Theraputic Modalities
I believe therapy is more than learning coping skills or simply reducing symptoms. Lasting change happens when we understand ourselves more deeply. Together, we’ll explore the emotions, experiences, and protective patterns that have shaped your life—not to judge them, but to understand them. As that understanding grows, change often follows naturally.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
We all have different parts of ourselves. There may be a part that worries, a part that strives for perfection, a part that avoids conflict, or a part that carries deep hurt. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, IFS helps us understand them with curiosity and compassion. Often, these parts developed for good reasons, even if they no longer serve us today. As we begin to understand these parts, they no longer have to work so hard, allowing you to respond to yourself and others with greater confidence, calm, and self-compassion.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Our emotions are not problems to eliminate—they’re valuable sources of information. Emotionally Focused Therapy helps us slow down and understand what emotions are communicating beneath anxiety, anger, withdrawal, or conflict. By understanding these emotional experiences, we create opportunities for healing, stronger relationships, and lasting change.
Why I Integrate Both
IFS and EFT complement one another beautifully. While IFS helps us understand the different parts of ourselves and the protective roles they play, EFT helps us explore the emotional experiences that shape our relationships with ourselves and others. Together, these approaches create a therapy experience that is compassionate, collaborative, and deeply rooted in self-understanding.
